Ana Vasquez 

Administrative Coordinator

Ana Provides Dr. Long with the professional support that allows him to care for patients, travel and teach at home and abroad. She coordinates Dr. Long’s schedule with each patient’s surgery schedule and helps ensure that every patient has completed all that is required before an operation. She has a wealth of knowledge on subjects ranging from insurance, the operation and return to a healthy lifestyle.

Yvonne Gamble

Registered Nurse

Yvonne is a registered nurse who has worked with Dr. Long in the operating room for most of her professional career, more than XX years. Yvonne is the director and coordinator of staff and activities in the operating room. During surgery, Yvonne communicates with the world outside of the operating room. You will meet her before surgery, but most of her incredible clinical work occurs while the patient is safely sedated.

Cecil Reyes

Certified Physician Assistant

Dr. Long met Cecil Reyes when Cecil was 17 years old and training to become a surgical technician. He continued his medical education and graduated as a physician assistant where he is now joined with Dr. Long at CSI. His elite skills in the operating room and after surgery provide the highest level of care to our patients.

Jan Kushiner 

Medical Assistant

Jan greets patients and checks them in during office visits, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. She is a wealth of information for patients when they have questions regarding surgery and processing forms.

Bert Fuller

Certified Physician Assistant

Dr. Long’s trusted companion in surgery and during the hospital stay and he takes calls from patients during off hours. He has detailed knowledge and experience regarding each of Dr. Long’s patients. Bert was a former sprinter at Loyola High School and the University of Southern California.

Mike Desvigne

Orthopaedic Surgical Technician

Surgery is like a ballet that requires several people to move as one. Every instrument must be checked before and during surgery by the surgical technician who must know all the steps so that the operation is safe and efficient. No technician is more skilled and experienced in this art and science than Mike Desvigne.

Radiology Technologist

Tony is a skilled and experienced professional who takes the in-office patient x-rays. He provides the finest quality radiographs while keeping patient comfort top-of-mind.

Dora Montes 

Orthopaedic Surgical Technician

There was a time that some medical professionals believed that women were not suited to work as a surgical technician for orthopedic surgeons. The physical nature of joint replacement surgery was considered too demanding. Dora dispelled that myth by becoming an outstanding surgical technician for CSI, and she now teaches new surgical technicians how to perform CAS.

Nina McDonald

Registered Nurse

An exceptional leader who also manages staff and activities in our operating room. She is a mentor to young nurses and devotes her time to increasing awareness to the Korean community about CSI’s exceptional care.

Orthopaedic Computer Surgery Institute Founder, Dr. William T. Long

Dr. Long was born and raised in Los Angeles where he was a standout athlete at Serra High School. He was awarded the prestigious University of California Regent’s Scholarship and earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Long completed joint replacement fellowship training at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic and the University of Southern California.

Board certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Long is an active member of numerous national hip and knee replacement societies. He is also an educator who teaches orthopedic surgeons at universities and international symposiums around the globe.

Dr. Long and his team have performed free hip and knee replacement operations for patients in the U.S. and around the world as part of Operation Walk. In his free time, Dr. Long mentors medical students and shares his knowledge of and passion for sprinting and long jumping with student athletes. He is a World Masters Track and Field Champion in the long jump and continues to compete when time permits.

Dr. Christopher Goring 

Orthopaedic Surgeon

Proudly served as an orthopedic surgeon for the U.S. Army for 15 years. In 2013, he completed joint replacement fellowship training at the University of Southern California and joined Dr. Long and the CSI team. Dr. Goring is highly skilled and experienced using Computer-assisted surgery for primary and revision hip and knee replacements. He also speaks fluent Spanish.

Dr. Bryan Chan 

Anesthesiologist

Dr. Chan and Dr. Long have worked together in the operating room for more than 15 years. Together they have performed more than one thousand operations in the U.S. and abroad. He is a master of Rapid Recovery Anesthesia and regional anesthesia techniques.

 
 
 
 Dr. Julio Raya, M.D.

Dr. Julio Raya 

Anesthesiologist

When he was director of the busiest obstetrics service in the U.S., Dr. Raya perfected regional anesthetic techniques that block pain at the surgical site. Additional experience at Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center refined the techniques that allow patients to breathe during surgery without inhaling anesthetic gas.

California Lung Associates The physicians of California Lung Associates are among the top lung specialists in Southern California. Long ago, it was clear to CSI that it is better to consult with the lung specialist before surgery to prevent blood clots than to call them after a clot has occurred. They provide an additional level of safety that gives confidence to our patents.

Dr. Michael Stefans For more than a decade, Dr. Stefans has provided specialized internal medicine care for joint replacement surgeons at St. Vincent Medical Center. His special knowledge and experience in taking care of joint replacement patients keeps our patients safe, comfortable and medically stable during the hospital stay and through the smooth transition home.
